Use of ketamine and xylazine anesthesia in dogs: A retrospective cohort study of 3,413 cases

The information regarding the risk of anesthesia-related death in veterinary medicine is scarce, and little known about mortality specific anesthetics. study conducted during 2019 at University Sarajevo, Veterinary faculty, aimed to estimate intermittent injectable ketamine-xylazine anesthesia dogs investigate potential relationship between rate anesthesiologists’ experience. Anesthetic records, where ketamine xylazine combination was used for induction maintenance, were reviewed divided into two groups: inexperienced (AN1) experienced anesthesiologists (AN2). Inexperienced constantly supervised by ones, whose corrective interventions recorded. Overall detected 0.15%, with 0.18% 0.11% AN1 AN2 groups, respectively.
